Black Metal and freedom of expression – extreme expressions encounter extreme attitudes

The Fritt Ord Foundation and Gammaglimt invite the public to a screening of the documentary film BLACKHEARTS, followed by a panel discussion on Thursday, 2 June 2016 at 7 p.m. at Uranienborgveien 2, Oslo. The panel consists of Sina Winter, Black Metal artist from Iran and the main character in the documentary, Kristian Eivind Espedal AKA Gaahl, former vocalist in the Black Metal band Gorgoroth, currently with the band Gaahl’s Wyrd, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, Iran Human Rights, Jan Lothe Eriksen, SafeMuse and Fredrik Horn Akselsen, director.

Shifting Boundaries: 3rd Edition of European Photo Exhibition Award has started

Twelve European photographers have been appointed to work on the topic «Shifting Boundaries». These are Arianna Arcara (Italy), Pierfrancesco Celada (Italy), Marthe Aune Eriksen (Norway), Jakob Ganslmeier (Germany), Margarida Gouveia (Portugal), Marie Hald (Denmark), Dominic Hawgood (United Kingdom), Robin Hinsch (Germany), Ildikó Péter (Hungary), Eivind H. Natvig (Norway), Marie Sommer (France) and Christina Werner (Austria).

The Fritt Ord Foundation announces a call for applications for 10 annual grants of NOK 200 000 each for critics who write for daily or weekly newspapers, or who supply reviews to TV/radio. The grant scheme will provide aggregate funding of MNOK 6 over a three-year period.

Digital life - new facets of gaming

The campaign is entitled Digital life – new facets of gaming, and it consists of debate meetings and an essay contest.
