A Microbial Perpective on Life on Earth
The Science Library and the Fritt Ord Foundation invite the public to a lecture in the Georg Sverdrup Building, Aud. 1, Blindern Campus, University of Oslo, at 2.15 p.m. on Friday, 2 November 2012.
Roberto Kolter, a professor of Microbiology at Harvard Medical School, will deliver a lecture on chemical communication between microorganisms – small molecules with serious consequences. He will provide an overview of how microbiological activity has shaped our planet, discussing and giving examples of how these organisms may react to the global changes of our time.
Q&A and summary by Professor Dag O. Hessen.
The lecture will be delivered in English.
The event will be co-organised by the Science Library (University of Oslo), Seminar on Science Studies (University of Oslo) and the Norwegian Biologists Association. The lecture is part of the project ‘Science Debate’ being co-organised by the Science Library and the Fritt Ord Foundation.
