Grants for library literature programmes, 2022–23: STORIES OF FLEEING
Fritt Ord invites applications for grants of NOK 60 000 each based on contemporary factual prose and fiction on the topic of fleeing. In recent years, war and refugee crises have drawn attention to the topic of fleeing and literature that tells stories about the experiences of people on the run.
Funding will be made available to support information projects that deal with fleeing in the broad sense, whether it refers to fleeing from war, poverty, prejudice, climate change, political persecution, feelings, family or religious oppression.
Applications are invited from public libraries, and from individuals or organisations that have an event agreement with a library. The funding may, for example, be used to arrange lectures, seminars, debates or talks at a library or online. The initiatives should be carried out in autumn 2022 or in 2023. Applicants are encouraged to draft a project outline that covers the topic, activities and time frame. Attach a project description, draft programme and budget.
Through this call for applications, Fritt Ord seeks to encourage activities that will promote literature and strengthen public libraries as communications arenas. Applications can be submitted through our online application porta from 1 August.
