Is "Norwegian Islam" possible?

April 6 2016

• What is actually needed to strengthen moderate forces of Islam in Europe and Norway?
• Is it possible to envisage Islam adapted to conditions in Norway? How?
• What are the most important strategies for fighting Islamic extremism?

A few weeks ago, conservative Muslim Mohammad Usman Rana’s book entitled Norwegian Islam. How to love Norway and Islam at the same time was published by Aschehoug. It has given rise to vehement discussions. Fritt Ord invites the public to a critical debate in prolongation of some of the topics in the book. Rana will introduce the theme and four prominent social commentators will carry the discussion further.

Please note: The event is full. The debate will be filmed, and the recording will be posted on the Fritt Ord Foundation’s YouTube channel by the weekend.
