Taboo and wahoo. A debate on youth and self-censorship.
February 17 2016
The Fritt Ord Foundation and Si ;D invite the public to a panel discussion on Wednesday, 17 February, from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at the Fritt Ord Foundation, Uranienborgveien 2, Oslo.
What do we not dare to write about today? Where do we draw the line? And why?
We have invited four young social commentators to discuss taboos and self-censorship, but we would also like to hear from you. Welcome to this open debate meeting!
The panellists:
Mina Gjerde (20) challenged PK-Norway when she said in no uncertain terms: Our village cannot handle as many asylum-seekers as the politicians want us to take.
Jakob Semb-Aasmundsen (19) was booed and hissed at when he delivered a (clearly) controversial 17th of May speech in Tønsberg.
Martine Halvorsen (17) is a participant on the TV 2 show ‘Painfully perfect’, on which she shares her innermost feelings with the entire country of Norway.
Fatema Al-Musawi (20) is a Muslim and a champion of LGBT rights, among other things.
The moderator will be Hulda Holtvedt (16), who has already has been an active social commentator for several years.
There will be discussions, voting and streaming. The event is free of charge and open to the public. The doors will open at 5.30 p.m.
Registration on Facebook. Please pass on information about the event to others, young and old alike.
This is the second debate organised in collaboration with Si ;D.
